Some shoots stay with you. Not because everything went perfectly. Not because the locations were extraordinary, although they were. But because of the people in front of the camera and the story they carried into every single frame.
Anuttara and Prabhjot’s pre-wedding shoot happened across two cities, three heritage locations, and two full days in the April heat of North India. One of them spent weeks planning every detail. The other showed up running a fever and ended up being the last one standing.
This is their story.
Two Different Worlds, One Beautiful Beginning
We have worked with a lot of couples at Destination Weddings India. Every single one of them has a story. Anuttara and Prabhjot’s story is one we keep coming back to.
Prabh is a US citizen. His family is there, his life is there. Anuttara has been in the US for ten years now. She is originally from Gurgaon. They come from different backgrounds, grew up with different values, different ways of seeing the world. None of that stopped them. They met on a social media platform, started talking, kept talking, and somewhere in all of that talking they realised this was something real. They decided to get married.
There is something about couples who come from genuinely different worlds and still find their way to each other. That something shows up in their photographs. You cannot fake it and you cannot manufacture it. With Anuttara and Prabh, it was just there.
She Knew Exactly What She Wanted From Her Pre-Wedding Shoot
Anuttara is the kind of person who does not leave things to chance. When she came to us at Destination Weddings India to plan the shoot, she had already been thinking about it for a while. Over the next one to two weeks there were multiple meetings, conversations about outfits, back and forth on locations, detailed discussions about what the frames should feel like and what she absolutely did not want.
She was not interested in a big dramatic production. She did not want poses that look stiff or moments that feel manufactured. What she kept coming back to was this idea of just being themselves, her and Prabh, caught in real moments, talking, laughing, being easy with each other. She wanted the setting to feel like heritage and nature, not like a studio backdrop. She wanted something that would look elegant and timeless, not something that would feel dated in three years.
She is from Gurgaon. Prabh is a proper Punjabi munda who happens to hold a US passport. She wanted the shoot to reflect both of them, not some polished version of a couple that looked nothing like who they actually are.
That kind of brief is actually the best kind to work with. It tells you exactly what matters.
The Quiet Strength Behind Every Great Pre-Wedding Story
Here is something worth knowing about Prabh. He is not a camera person. He will be the first to tell you that. Posing for photographs is not something that comes naturally to him, and he was not going into this shoot feeling confident about any of it.
But Anuttara wanted this. She had spent weeks planning it. And Prabh, without making a big deal of it, decided he was going to show up and do it properly. Not because he was suddenly comfortable in front of a lens, but because he understood what it meant to her.
That is the kind of thing that does not show up on a shot list. But it shows up in the photographs.
When Delhi Was Not Enough, Jaipur Became the Answer
At some point during the planning, Anuttara sat with the locations on the table and realised Delhi was not going to give her everything she was looking for. The shoot in her head needed more range, more variety, something that Delhi alone could not offer.
So she added Jaipur.
Humayun’s Tomb stayed on the list for Delhi. It is one of those locations that does something very specific to a photograph. The Mughal architecture, the garden symmetry, the way the light falls across the stone at different times of day, it gives every frame a kind of quiet dignity that is hard to find anywhere else in the country. For a couple who wanted heritage and elegance, it was the obvious starting point.
For Jaipur, we locked in Amber Fort and Kishan Bagh. Amber Fort is a completely different experience. The scale of it, the weight of it, the way it sits in the landscape of Rajasthan, it adds something to a pre-wedding shoot that no other location quite replicates. Kishan Bagh brought in the green, the openness, the natural light that Anuttara had always wanted running through some of the frames.
Three locations. Two cities. Two full days of shooting. In April. If you know North India in April, you know what that means in terms of heat. Anuttara knew. She kept the plan exactly as it was.
He Showed Up with a Fever and Became the Heart of the Shoot
The night before the shoot started, Prabh was running a fever. And before anyone even had a chance to bring up rescheduling, Prabh had already decided he was going. He knew what Anuttara had put into planning this. He was not going to be the reason it did not happen.
So he showed up. What none of us expected was what happened once the shoot actually got going. Prabh got in front of the camera, the frames started coming together, and he saw it. He saw how good they looked side by side. He saw how happy Anuttara was. And something in him just switched.
The guy who had been nervous about being on camera became the most energetic person on the entire set. He started pushing for more clicks. When the April heat started wearing Anuttara down on day two, he was the one keeping the energy up, motivating her, making sure they got every shot they had planned for. He forgot about the fever entirely.
We have been on a lot of shoots. We have never quite seen that happen the way it happened with Prabh. The person who was least sure about the whole thing ended up carrying it home.
Elegant, Real, and Completely Them | Pre-Wedding Shoot Goals
The reason this shoot works is because Anuttara never moved off her brief. She knew what she wanted and she did not get talked into anything that was not that.
So what you see in the photographs is not a performance. It is just them. Prabh looking at Anuttara the way he actually looks at her. Anuttara laughing the way she actually laughs. Two people who are comfortable with each other, in locations that gave the whole thing exactly the backdrop it deserved.
Humayun’s Tomb gave them the architecture and the grandeur. Amber Fort gave them Rajasthan in full. Kishan Bagh gave them the softness and the nature that tied the whole shoot together and gave it its most relaxed, genuine frames.
Put it all together and what you have is a pre-wedding shoot that looks like them on their best day. Which was the whole point.
How Destination Weddings India Made It Happen
Most couples spend more time stressing about the planning than actually enjoying what they planned for. That is the problem we solve.
Two cities. Three heritage locations. Two full days. April heat. A groom running a fever. Not a single thing went wrong.
Outfits finalised until every look felt right. Locations chosen for the story, not just the aesthetic. Shoot roadmap built hour by hour. Heritage location permissions sorted weeks in advance. The right makeup artist from Jaipur, briefed and booked.
By the time Anuttara and Prabh arrived at the first location, they had nothing to think about except each other.
That is not luck. That is Destination Weddings India.
A Glimpse Into Their Journey
From Delhi to Jaipur, across three locations and two unforgettable days, here is what the camera captured, beautifully shot and documented by Wander Weddings (@wanderweddings_), who brought this story to life through their cinematic storytelling style.
Planning a Pre-Wedding Shoot in Delhi or Jaipur?
What this shoot taught us, and what we see reinforced with every couple we work with, is that the logistics are everything. When they are handled well, the couple never has to think about them. They just get to enjoy the day. When they are not handled, you feel it in the photographs.
If you are thinking about a pre-wedding shoot in Delhi, a pre-wedding shoot in Jaipur, or anywhere else in India, and you want a team that will take care of everything around it so you can focus on each other, that is exactly what we do at Destination Weddings India.
Tell us what you have in mind. We will take it from there.
Find the Perfect Wedding Venue in India with Destination Weddings India
Most couples start their wedding venue search and end up looking at the same ten properties everyone else looks at. There is so much more out there. Palaces that are still privately run and available for weddings. Heritage havelis that sit in the most extraordinary settings. Properties by lakes, in the hills, along the coast, in the middle of cities that feel like completely different worlds once you walk through the gate.
The right venue is not just the one that looks good in photographs. It is the one that fits your people, your family, your budget, and your idea of what the day should actually feel like from the inside.
We work across more than 30 destination cities in India. Jaipur, Delhi, Udaipur, Goa, Jodhpur, Agra, Kashmir, Rishikesh, and more. We know these venues from having been in them, not just from a listing. We know which ones deliver on their promise and which ones look better on a website than they do in person. We know how to put together a wedding that feels like nobody else’s wedding, because it is not. It is yours.
If you are an NRI couple planning a wedding back in India, if you are looking for pre-wedding shoot locations in Delhi or Jaipur, or if you simply want your wedding to feel like something other than a template, come and talk to us.
