The Real Cost Breakdown: Property Type × Guest Count × Category

We’ve structured this across three guest counts 100, 200, and 300 with five property tiers at each level.
100 Guests | 2-Day Wedding
This is our most common inquiry size. Intimate enough for a destination feel, large enough to fill a proper heritage property.
| Cost Category | 3-Star | 4-Star | 5-Star | 5-Star Luxury | Palace Property |
| Venue + Stay + Food | ₹16L – ₹24L | ₹25L – ₹35L | ₹40L – ₹65L | ₹60L – ₹3Cr | ₹50L – ₹3Cr |
| Decor | ₹5L – ₹6L | ₹8L – ₹12L | ₹15L – ₹20L | ₹50L – ₹1Cr | ₹20L – ₹1Cr |
| Photography + Video | ₹1L – ₹1.5L | ₹1.5L – ₹2.5L | ₹3.5L – ₹4L | ₹12L – ₹15L | ₹8L – ₹15L |
| Entertainment | ₹80K – ₹1.2L | ₹1.5L – ₹3L | ₹2.5L – ₹5L | ₹20L – ₹35L | ₹15L – ₹35L |
| Miscellaneous | ₹2L | ₹3L | ₹5L | ₹10L | ₹10L |
What miscellaneous covers: Guest transportation, welcome kits, invitations, stationery, tips for vendor teams, and small unplanned spends across 2 days. Every wedding has them. Budget for them upfront.
200 Guests | 2-Day Wedding
Venue + Stay + Food doubles linearly with guest count in our experience. Decor, photography, and entertainment don’t scale the same way, which is actually where couples at 200 guests often find the best value per head.
| Cost Category | 3-Star | 4-Star | 5-Star | 5-Star Luxury | Palace Property |
| Venue + Stay + Food | ₹32L – ₹48L | ₹50L – ₹70L | ₹80L – ₹1.3Cr | ₹1.2Cr – ₹6Cr | ₹1Cr – ₹6Cr |
| Decor | ₹7L – ₹10L | ₹12L – ₹15L | ₹18L – ₹24L | ₹50L – ₹1Cr | ₹20L – ₹1Cr |
| Photography + Video | ₹1L – ₹1.5L | ₹1.5L – ₹2.5L | ₹3.5L – ₹4L | ₹12L – ₹15L | ₹8L – ₹15L |
| Entertainment | ₹80K – ₹1.2L | ₹1.5L – ₹3L | ₹2.5L – ₹5L | ₹20L – ₹35L | ₹15L – ₹35L |
| Miscellaneous | ₹2.5L | ₹4L | ₹7L | ₹15L | ₹12L |
300 Guests | 2-Day Wedding
At 300 guests, you’re in large-format territory. Venue choice becomes the primary constraint not every property in Jaipur can handle this scale with the right infrastructure. The good ones fill up 12–14 months out for December.
| Cost Category | 3-Star | 4-Star | 5-Star | 5-Star Luxury | Palace Property |
| Venue + Stay + Food | ₹48L – ₹72L | ₹75L – ₹1.5Cr | ₹1.2CR – ₹2Cr | ₹1.8CR – ₹9Cr | ₹1.5Cr – ₹9Cr |
| Decor | ₹8L – ₹12L | ₹12L – ₹18L | ₹20L – ₹30L | ₹50L – ₹1.5Cr | ₹20L – ₹1Cr |
| Photography + Video | ₹1L – ₹1.5L | ₹1.5L – ₹2.5L | ₹3.5L – ₹4L | ₹12L – ₹15L | ₹8L – ₹15L |
| Entertainment | ₹80K – ₹1.2L | ₹1.5L – ₹3L | ₹2.5L – ₹5L | ₹20L – ₹35L | ₹15L – ₹35L |

Understanding the Five Property Tiers
Jaipur’s wedding venue market is more nuanced than star ratings suggest. Here’s what each tier actually means on the ground.
3-Star Properties
These are typically resorts on the city outskirts or smaller hotels with decent banquet infrastructure. No heritage character to speak of, but functional, affordable, and often very accommodating on customisation. Good option if your budget is the priority and your decor team is strong enough to build atmosphere from scratch.
Venue + stay + food at this tier for 100 guests runs ₹16–24 lakhs across 2 days. For couples managing a tight overall budget, this leaves more room for photography and decor, the things that actually last beyond the wedding day.
4-Star Properties
A meaningful upgrade in infrastructure, service quality, and often location. Several 4-star properties in Jaipur have restored heritage elements, carved jharokhas, sandstone facades, courtyard layouts without the premium pricing of a full palace hotel. This is our most recommended tier for couples wanting the Jaipur look at a mid-range price.
Venue + stay + food: ₹25–35 lakhs for 100 guests over 2 days.
5-Star Properties
Properties like Fairmont, ITC Rajputana, Marriott, and similar. Consistent service levels, larger banquet capacities, better outdoor infrastructure for large setups. Less character than a haveli or palace, more operational reliability. The tradeoff is real, you’re buying execution certainty alongside the luxury experience.
Venue + stay + food: ₹40–65 lakhs for 100 guests.
5-Star Luxury
This tier includes Oberoi Rajvilas, Leela, and comparable ultra-luxury properties. Extraordinary experience, exceptional food and beverage, impeccable service. Pricing reflects that: ₹60L to ₹3 crore for venue + stay + food alone at 100 guests, depending on the property and season. Decor at this tier typically starts at ₹50 lakhs because the visual standard set by the property demands it.
Palace Properties
Rambagh Palace, Samode Palace, Chomu Palace, Jai Mahal Palace. What sets palace properties apart isn’t just aesthetics, it’s the complete environment. Centuries-old architecture, consistent visual identity across every corner of the property, and a sense of occasion that no purpose-built hotel can replicate.
Buyout pricing varies enormously by property size and season. For 100 guests, venue + stay + food starts at ₹50 lakhs and can reach ₹3 crore at full palace buyout level. If Rambagh is your benchmark, plan your overall budget accordingly but also know that Jaipur’s palace market has options at multiple price points, and our team can shortlist the right one for your specific budget.

What Actually Drives Your Total Budget Higher
Guest count and property tier are the primary variables. But these are the secondary factors that quietly push budgets 15–25% beyond initial estimates:
GST. Wedding services attract 18% GST on most categories. Most vendor quotes you receive are exclusive of tax. A ₹45L quote is actually ₹53L once tax is applied. Always ask whether every single quote is tax-inclusive or exclusive. Every time.
Season. October to March is peak season, highest demand, highest prices, and the best venues book 12–14 months out. December weekend dates at popular palace properties are routinely committed 14 months in advance. This is not exaggeration; we see it every year. March–April is shoulder season: warmer but still beautiful, and 15–20% cheaper across most vendor categories.
Number of functions. The tables above assume a 2-day wedding. Every additional function, haldi, additional sangeet, day-after brunch, adds another catering service, another decor setup, more venue hours. Three functions versus two is not a marginal difference in cost.
Vendor travel. Flying in your photographer, make-up artist, or specialist decor team from another city means covering flights, accommodation, and meals on top of their professional fee. Factor this in when comparing local versus out-of-city vendors.
Baraat logistics. Decorated vehicles, horse or elephant permits (both require advance approvals in Jaipur), security deposits for fort venues. None of this appears in standard venue quotes.
When to Book: A Timeline That Actually Protects You
October–March dates (peak season): Venue 12–14 months in advance. December weekends at the top 10 most requested properties are regularly committed by February of the prior year. Caterer, photographer, entertainment 8–10 months minimum once venue is locked.
March–April dates (shoulder season): Venue 8–10 months is generally workable. More flexibility available. Other vendors 5–6 months once venue is confirmed.
July–August (off-season): Budget advantage of 20–25% is real. Trade-off is entirely outdoor settings become difficult and some vendors have reduced availability. Indoor and covered venues work well.
The rule that never fails: lock the venue first. Everything else, vendor negotiation, accommodation blocks, guest communication becomes significantly easier once the venue date is confirmed.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does a destination wedding in Jaipur cost for 100 guests in 2026?
Based on our actual booking data: ₹25–33 lakhs at a 3-star property, ₹38–54 lakhs at 4-star, ₹66–95 lakhs at 5-star, and ₹1.5 crore to ₹4.5 crore-plus at 5-star luxury or palace properties. All figures are for a 2-day wedding inclusive of venue, stay, food, decor, photography, entertainment, and miscellaneous costs.
What is the minimum realistic budget for a destination wedding in Jaipur?
For 100 guests over 2 days at a good 3-star or boutique property: ₹25–33 lakhs. This is not a “bare minimum” figure, it covers a genuine destination wedding experience with good decor, photography, and entertainment. Going below ₹20 lakhs for 100 guests means significant compromises on at least two major categories.
Does venue cost double exactly when going from 100 to 200 guests?
In our experience, venue + stay + food scales roughly linearly with guest count. The reason: catering (which is the largest component of this combined cost) is genuinely per-head. Room requirements also scale. What doesn’t scale linearly is photography, entertainment, and to a lesser extent decor so your per-head total cost actually improves at higher guest counts.
How much should I budget for decor specifically?
Property tier is the biggest determinant. At a 3-star property, ₹5–6 lakhs for 100 guests across 2 days does the job well. At a 5-star luxury property, ₹50 lakhs is closer to the minimum that matches the venue’s visual standard. The architecture sets the benchmark; your decor has to meet it.
Are 2026 prices higher than last year?
Yes. Venue costs have risen 12–18% year-on-year since 2023 in our actual booking experience. Catering has seen similar increases driven by ingredient and staffing costs. Photography and entertainment have been more stable. The most effective protection against further increases is early booking and rate confirmation with a signed contract.
Can international or NRI couples get married in Jaipur?
Yes. Foreign nationals and OCI cardholders can legally marry in Jaipur. The documentation requirement includes apostilled birth certificates, passport copies, affidavits, and a notice of intended marriage filed 30 days ahead with the local registrar. Our team manages this entire process for international couples, it’s a standard part of how we work with NRI clients.
Does Destination Weddings India charge for venue sourcing separately?
No. Our planning fee is flat or percentage-based and covers the full scope: venue shortlisting, site visits, price negotiations, and all vendor coordination from first enquiry to the last function. We do not earn undisclosed commissions from venues or any third-party vendors.
