The most secretive wedding of the year is finally public. Vogue has released the first official Cristiano Ronaldo wedding photos with Georgina Rodriguez.
And the biggest shock is the scale. No cathedral. No 500 guests. Just a living room, five children and four witnesses.
The first official photos
The couple gave Vogue an exclusive. Every image was shot by fashion photographer Juergen Teller. Here is the first look
When did Ronaldo and Georgina get married?
They married on Tuesday, 11 August 2026 at 1:30 pm.
The date was not a coincidence. It was exactly ten years to the day since they first met at a Gucci store in Madrid in 2016, where Georgina worked as a sales assistant.
The couple broke the news a week later with one photo. Just the rings. No location, no outfits, no guest list.
What did they wear?
Both wore custom Gucci. A deliberate loop back to the store where they met.
Georgina Rodriguez
- Custom Gucci Primavera suit in white silk faille
- Single-breasted three-button jacket
- Matching pencil skirt
- Satin shoes
No gown. No veil. No train.
Cristiano Ronaldo
- Custom light beige cotton single-breasted suit, notch lapel
- Silver Horsebit detail at the trouser waistband
- Plain white jersey t-shirt underneath
- Custom Horsebit loafers
Gucci artistic director Demna said dressing them mattered because of where the story started.
“It felt incredibly special to dress Georgina and Cristiano for this moment,” he told Vogue, calling it a circle closing.
The one real extravagance was the jewellery. Chopard throughout, including a necklace set with a 50-carat diamond.
Who was actually there?
Nine people, besides the couple.
The five children:
Cristiano Ronaldo Junior, twins Eva and Mateo, and daughters Alana Martina and Bella Esmeralda.
The four witnesses:
- Miguel Paixao, Ronaldo’s friend since his Sporting academy days
- Ivana Rodriguez, Georgina’s sister
- Jose Rodriguez Sangil, a Spanish jeweller and family friend
- Monica Gonzalez Martinez, his wife
What Indian couples can take from this
Intimate does not mean less ambitious. It means better edited. The format Ronaldo and Georgina chose, a private ceremony first and a full celebration later, is already spreading fast among Indian couples planning across two cities.
Three things worth borrowing:
1. Pick a date that already means something.
They married on the tenth anniversary of the day they met. If you are stuck choosing between two auspicious wedding dates, let a personal anniversary decide it.
2. Choose a space with memory, not just capacity.
A living room worked because of what happens there daily. In India that instinct maps beautifully to heritage havelis and private palace courtyards. Udaipur venues handle this format especially well for guest lists under 100.
3. Let restraint be the statement.
One suit instead of a gown. One extraordinary necklace instead of five. That editing is exactly why the photos landed.
Thinking about a smaller wedding? The budget gap between a compact celebration and a four-day function is large, and worth modelling before you commit.
