“Shukar Guruji” – two words that carry the weight of a million blessings.
For millions of sangat members across India and the world, these words are not just a phrase – they are a way of life. They are a daily reminder that grace is always present, that love never runs dry, and that no soul who comes with a sincere heart ever goes away empty.
This is the essence of Guruji Ka Ashram – a spiritual home built not on bricks and mortar, but on faith, love, seva, and the eternal presence of the one the sangat calls simply: Guruji.
A Divine Soul – Born to Guide
Born on 7 July 1954 in the village of Dugri, near Malerkotla, Punjab – the one who would come to be lovingly known as Chattarpur Wale Guruji carried divine qualities from the very beginning.
From childhood, those around him sensed something extraordinary. Over the years, Guruji Maharaj emerged as one of India’s most beloved and accessible spiritual guides – welcoming all sangat members equally, regardless of background, religion, caste, or social standing.
His ashram, located in New Delhi, became one of the most spiritually powerful sanctuaries in the country – a place where the broken found healing, the lost found direction, and the weary found rest.
On 31 May 2007, Guruji Maharaj attained Mahasamadhi. Yet as every sangat member knows in their heart – he never truly left.
The Teachings – Simple Words, Infinite Depth
What made Guruji’s path so beautiful was its simplicity. He did not demand complex rituals or grand religious performance. He asked only for an open heart.
Seva – Service Without Ego Guruji Maharaj taught that real seva flows naturally from love. It is done quietly, without seeking applause, without pride, and without expectation. Offering tea to someone, helping a sangat member quietly, volunteering in the langar – every small act of selfless love becomes a prayer in itself.
Gratitude – “Shukar Guruji” Saying “Shukar Guruji” was not merely a greeting – it was a spiritual practice. Guruji taught that a grateful heart attracts more blessings. Acknowledging what you have, rather than lamenting what you lack, keeps you anchored in divine grace.
Kindness and Non-Harm Stay humble. Speak gently. Never hurt another through words or actions. Treat every sangat member you encounter as someone deserving of care and respect.
Devotion to Mahadev At the core of everything was an unwavering love for Lord Shiva. Chanting “Om Namah Shivay”, attending satsangs, and surrendering completely to Mahadev – this was the foundation of the spiritual life Guruji Maharaj inspired in the hearts of all sangat members.
Langar Prashad – Blessings in Every Sip and Every Bite
Two things are inseparable from Guruji Maharaj’s legacy – chai and langar prashad.
The blessed chai is perhaps the most iconic symbol of his grace. Sangat members believe that this tea carries divine energy, and countless hearts have experienced physical, emotional, and spiritual healing simply from receiving it with faith and gratitude.
The langar prashad represents something equally profound: the belief that no one who comes seeking should ever leave hungry. It is a symbol of unity, equality, and the unconditional love that defines this spiritual family.
Both are received not as ordinary food and drink, but as sacred offerings – a direct channel of Guruji’s grace, available to every soul who arrives with a sincere heart.
Guruji’s Swaroop – His Divine Presence Lives On
Even after Mahasamadhi, countless sangat members across the world speak of experiencing Guruji Maharaj’s presence in deeply personal ways.
Some see his swaroop in dreams – arriving at moments of difficulty, offering silent reassurance and guidance. Others feel his presence walking beside them during their darkest hours. Many sangat members share how simply sitting in his ashram, closing their eyes, and breathing in the sacred atmosphere fills them with a peace that cannot be explained – only felt.
His swaroop continues to inspire, heal, and guide. The sangat’s faith is not rooted in memory alone – it is rooted in a living, breathing experience of his grace, present every single day.
Sacred Occasions – When His Presence Feels Closest
Certain days in the year are celebrated by the sangat with extraordinary devotion, as these occasions are believed to carry especially powerful blessings.
