Alila Fort Bishangarh is a 230-year-old warrior fort on a granite hill off NH-8 at Manoharpur, restored into a 59-key hotel under the Alila brand and managed by Hyatt. The original stonework and escape passageways were kept rather than rebuilt, so the fort reads as a fort rather than a hotel dressed as one. Be clear about scale before anything else. This is an intimate venue, not a large one. The property suits a wedding of 100 to 300 guests where the fort itself is the reason you are there. A thousand-guest baraat does not fit here, and no amount of planning changes that.

What it offers instead is a setting nothing else in Rajasthan matches. The fort sits alone on a hill with 360-degree views across the Aravalli range and Bishangarh village below. Guests arrive and understand immediately why you chose it. Aravalli Lawn is the largest space at 1,775 sq m, holding up to 300 guests against the hills. It takes the pheras or reception under open sky. Baori is the other major space at 1,509 sq m for up to 325, and it splits into an upper lawn for 50 and a lower lawn for 100. The floating mandap in the Baori is the image most couples come here for.

Nazaara is the open-air terrace at 1,626 sq m, taking 110 for a dinner with the valley below. Haveli Terrace takes 100 and the Haveli Courtyard 50, both suited to a mehendi or a welcome dinner. Kachchawa Deck is the smallest and most striking, reached through the fort’s old escape passageways and opening onto uninterrupted panoramas. It takes 15, which makes it right for a proposal, a private dinner or a small ceremony.

Indoors, the Darbar banquet hall, Dawat dining room and Saheb conference room cover the functions that need a roof. The stay runs to 59 rooms and suites, from a 562 sq ft Heritage Room to a 1,054 sq ft Presidential Suite, with bay windows and day beds set into the fort walls. A guest list above roughly 120 will need rooms in the area. Worth knowing before you plan: catering and alcohol are in-house only, though you may bring your own DJ. The fort is about 69 km from Jaipur International Airport, roughly an hour and a half. It is the furthest property we work with for a Destination Wedding in Jaipur, and that distance needs planning into guest transfers rather than being discovered on arrival. October to March is the window. The hilltop position makes evenings cooler than the valley, which extends the season slightly at both ends. April to June is too hot for afternoon functions on the exposed terraces. December and January book out early, so plan eight to twelve months ahead.
