Mundota Fort and Palace is a 450-year-old heritage property at Mundota village, roughly an hour from Jaipur, set across a 20-acre estate in the Aravalli foothills. It is the only property in the region with a palace, a hilltop fort and a full polo ground on the same land. That polo ground is the reason Mundota takes weddings other Jaipur venues cannot. The Polo Lawns runs to 75,000 sq ft and holds up to 3,500 guests, which puts a full baraat and reception on one lawn without compression.

Bagh-e-Inayat is the second lawn at 12,500 sq ft for up to 700, the size most receptions actually need. Firdaus is another outdoor space at a similar capacity. The Hilltop Fort takes up to 500 guests with panoramic views across the valley, and it is the space couples usually choose for a sangeet under the stars. Getting a guest list up there needs planning, but the setting is the property’s signature.

Indoors, the Ballroom holds up to 500 and Rangmahal up to 300, both fully air conditioned. Between them they carry a monsoon or winter wedding without the celebration feeling moved indoors as a compromise. Smaller spaces cover the rest of the sequence. Noorbagh, Buland Chowk, Baradari and the Baradari Terrace all take around 150, which suits a mehendi or haldi, and the poolside handles a cocktail evening for up to 300. There is also a Sand Dunes setting for 250.

The stay matches the scale, with 125 rooms and suites across categories from the Palace Superior to a Hilltop War Fort Suite with its own plunge pool. The full guest list stays on the estate. Worth knowing before you plan: outside caterers and outside decorators are both permitted, which is unusual at this level and gives you real control over food and design. Alcohol is in-house only. The DJ is provided by the venue. Music runs at permissible levels, and smoking is not allowed.

Mundota sits about 31 km from Jaipur International Airport and 30 km from Jaipur Junction, roughly an hour by road, on the Kalwar side rather than the Amer belt. It is further out than most Destination Wedding in Jaipur properties, which is exactly why it has the space it does.

October to March is the window. Days stay pleasant and evenings cool enough for the lawns and the fort to run late. April to June gets too hot for afternoon functions in the open. Through the monsoon, the Ballroom and Rangmahal carry the indoor load. December and January book out early, so plan eight to twelve months ahead.
